Anambra Wins Female 4x100m Gold, 200m Silver at NYG 2023

Anambra State has won the gold medal in the female 4x100m event and a silver medal in the female 200m event at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) 2023 in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In the 4x100m event, the Anambra team of Onyinyechukwu Ubah, Maryann Udeze, Miracle Oduah, and Chinecherem Nwakamma clocked a time of 45.32 seconds to finish ahead of Delta State and Edo State, who won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In the 200m event, Onyinyechukwu Ubah finished second in the final with a time of 24.56 seconds, behind Delta State’s Favour Ofili, who won the gold medal with a time of 24.32 seconds. Edo State’s Grace Usan finished third to win the bronze medal.

Anambra State’s performance at the NYG 2023 has been impressive so far. The state has won a total of 10 medals, including 3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

The NYG 2023 is a multi-sport event for athletes aged 15-17 years. The competition is being held from September 17 to October 2, 2023, in Ilorin, Kwara State.
