Nigerian Federal Allocation Committee Releases N143billion To Local Government

The Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared out a total N143.97billion to the 25 largest local government areas in the country within an eight-month period – that is, from January to August 2023.

FAAC is responsible for reviewing and adopting the allocation of funds to States of the Federal government of Nigeria.

The 25 LGAs with the highest FAAC in eight months showed that Alimosho LGA from Lagos State received N8.88 billion becoming the highest in the country with FCT, Abuja Municipal coming a distance second with N6.94 billion within the same period under review.

Ikorodu LGA received N6.27bn, Surulere N6.08bn, Agege: N5.93bn, Ifako/Ijaye: N5.82bn, Somolu: N5.72bn, Ikeja: N5.44bn, Eti-Osa: N5.42bn, Amowo-Odofin: N5.42bn, Lagos Mainland: N5.40bn, while Badagry received N5.22bn within the period under review.

Apapa LGA received N5.06bn, Epe: N5.03bn, Lagos Island: N5.02bn and Ibeju-Lekki: N4.72 billion.

The four remaining LGAs in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja with the largest allocations are: Bwari: N5.01bn, Gwagwalada: N4.71bn, Kwali: N4.57bn and Kuje: N4.55bn.

Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Government Area Lagos State received N6.73bn, while Kosofe LGA received N6.62bn; Mushin received N6.52bn, Oshodi/Isolo received N6.48bn, and Ojo received N6.41bn.
